Another innovative and stunning release from John Glaser and the Compass Box team. Compass Box, Scottish maker of artisanal Whisky, is known for its forward-thinking and extravagant expressions. They create custom casks from premium Oak, select the best Whiskies they can find, and create unique and magical blends.
The Spice Tree is a vatting of northern Highland distilleries, the whisky is aged in unique custom-made American Oak casks with heavily toasted French Oak heads, adding a rich spiciness – great sipped neat. It was named Best Blended Malt Scotch at the 2015 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Flavour Profile
Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep honey and amber tones.
Nose
Fragrant and aromatic with notes of dried herbs, spices, oak and vanilla. Has a bourbon note to it. A level of warmth in the nose.
Palate
Sweet, full, and round without a hint of heaviness. Gingernut biscuits, toffee spices, herbal, vanilla, very rich and peppery. Clove, warm cinnamon, wave on wave and layer upon layer of flavor.
Finish
Long and sustained, with continued clove notes through the finish.
