MARS Iwai Tradition Blended Whisky

This Japanese blended whisky comes from both malt and grain. It's carefully distilled at Japan’s highest distillery, Mars Shinshu Distillery, founded by the Hombo family, located at 798 meters, in a mountain range of Nagano. The whisky is named after Kiichiro Iwai, known as “The Silent Pioneer of Japan Whisky.” Mars Shinshu Iwai Tradition Whisky is adored for its caramel, honey, spicy and cherry flavor notes.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Amber.

Nose

Sweet ginger, honey and rice pudding are the dominant introduction. Followed by a complex bright gentle smoke and some lighter character.

Palate

Full bodied, sweet notes of vanilla biscuits, maple and burning sugarcane. Balanced by a sweet peat, with marmalade and cinnamon.

Finish

Comes out with a full bodied weight and yet a light bright finish. This includes hints of powdered chocolate and an old wood quality.
