Rhum Barbancourt is rum produced from pure sugar cane juice and bottled in Haiti by Société du Rhum Barbancourt. The distillery is one of Haiti's oldest institutions, and its rum is the country's most famous export, widely regarded as among the finest rums in the world!
For over 160 years, the Barbancourt distillery has been passing on its unique know-how, inherited from its founder Dupré Barbancourt, from generation to generation. Barbancourt is made directly from sugar cane juice rather than the sugar cane by-product molasses. This is similar to the rhum agricole of Martinique, this means you can expect more vibrant, fruity, grassy notes in the unaged or young Rhum's.
The Rhum is aged in French (Limousin) Oak barrels and is run through a complex blending system to impart complexity and ensure consistency. All Barbancourt Rhum is bottled free from any additives.
Rounded, crisp. Opens to the nose with a refined and complex bouquet, with aromas of honey, green apple and pralines, enriched with hints reminiscent of Sauternes wine. Vanilla sweetness.
Entry is fresh, elegant and smooth. Soft and silky, with character, with notes of apricots in jam, barley sugar, nougat, honey and ginger.
Long and balanced with a ginger finish.
